Braun has 4 hits to lead Brewers over Astros (AP)
Ryan Braun homered and matched a career-high with four hits, Manny Parra pitched six strong innings and the Milwaukee Brewers beat the Houston Astros 5-1 Friday night. Prince Fielder and Mike Cameron also homered for Milwaukee, which won for the fourth time in five games. Houston dropped its third straight.

MLB to hold ceremonial Negro Leagues draft (AP)
Country singer Charley Pride and Millito Navarro, at 102 believed to be the oldest living professional baseball player, were among the former Negro Leaguers invited to attend a ceremonial draft next month. The event will take place June 6 in Lake Buena Vista, Fla., before Major League Baseball holds its annual amateur draft.

Brewers finalize deal with RHP Julian Tavarez (AP)
The Milwaukee Brewers finalized a deal with Julian Tavarez, and he will be in uniform for Tuesday night’s game against the Atlanta Braves. The 35-year-old right-hander, cut loose by Boston earlier this month after going 0-1 with a 6.39 ERA in nine relief appearances, worked out for the Brewers’ staff in Washington on Sunday.
